Installation (Installer)

1) Add this source to your Installer - openrepo.org/repo
2) Navigate to Tweaks
3) Install the version pertaining to you!

2) SSH into your iPod/iPhone

4) Copy the whole Preferences.app folder to your computer and save it in a safe place. This is just incase you want the regular Preferences back.
5) Highlight all of the items in the folder you opened in step 1
6) Drag all of the items into the Preferences.app folder
7) If you are asked to over write files say "Yes"
8) Respring

FAQ (Read this before you ask questions):

so if i update will i be fine uninstalling summerboard?

No, this just lets you change the theme in SummerBoard without opening SMBPrefs

the only thing that i see that doesnt work is the fake signal bars

edit: maybe it doesnt work on the touch

All this does is set your signal to max, basically if you have only 2 bars but want 3 this will do that. It doesn't increase your signal strength or speed, just the picture it displays

So what are the strings we can use for the time? like this? hh:mm:ss ????

You can put anything in the fake time, text, numbers etc.

Ok i have a problem my ipod wont respring it just keeps making that daft drrrrrooouuuuttttt noise any help.

Ok its jsut seems to be my springboard is not loading it just keeps respring over and over and over i can connect it to the pc itunes sees it fine also i can assess the file
system via iPhone Browser.

Also what language files is it it changes or resprings with as i cant find any apart from inside apps.

I SSH the new preferences and it works fine. Except for one thing: when I go to the Date and Tine sertings, it just crashes. I tried reinstalling it but to no avail. Anyone knows ho I can fix it? Thanks in advance. I'll reward the one with a rep.

You have to input the name of the folder all the icons and wallpapers and such are in. Such as VistaMaximus or UltimateLeopard. Something like that

and it need to be the same format as the original filename... (ex. UnL0CkER. can't be written as unl0cker or UNL0CKER)

3) The Preferences itself has a toggle switch that asks you if you want the MobileScrobbler settings and if you want the home button enabler.

I will try to get the last one to work on Thursday because I have soccer practice tomorrow. OpenRepo has been dropped because of the maintainers inability to maintain it.

OK, WELL, this is sure probably not going up any time soon. I would like to know, if lazyasada has time to get his server set up can we host this for you. We can PROBABLY do all the stuff you said it needed to do but I'm not sure a yes/no feature exists. Yes we CAN make it install 1 for MobileScrobbler or 1 for without automatically. HOWEVER, if we can't do the yes/no for Home Button Enabler can't you just put it in the prefs themselves and make it change the N45AP.plist or M68AP.plist on the iPhone to add and remove it?

i installed using ssh method with WinSCP
it doesn't look the same
every option is stuck way back in the general tab
and its not even every option you say there are
are you sure that that attached app is the same one you got those screen shots with?

You didn't install correctly. Make sure to copy all the files

Im trying to put in the MobileScrobbler settings not included file...i open it, do a Ctrl A, and drag it into the preferences.app folder.. i overwrite the files, yada yada...then i drag and drop in the .DS-store file.. i respring.. and nothing,..any tips on what im doing wrong, i must have missed something somewhere? on 1.1.4

dont restore! i figured out what was wrong..
SSH in and do exactly what he said..make sure you change all permissions inside the preferences.app folder to 755, do ctrl A and then change them.

edit- hey apple guy, you might want to edit your first post for the SSH install since the repo is down. you HAVE to change all the permissions to 755 to get your preferences to work. +rep for this anyways tho =)

I use Windows XP and WinSCP and the files get corrupted everytime!
if you copy to your computer and back on to your ipod, Setting will launch, but then wait a minute or so and crash back to the springboard.

installed successfuly , but some problems

1st you have 2 versions (one with scrobbler, one without)

when you install the one with...the scrobbler icon doesnt appear (and the KB tweak for disabling autocorrection is missing in this one)

...and no idea what you have changed but with old extended you were able to install scrobbler , with yours installer gets an error..

would it be possible to have a fixed version with scrobbler and the kb tweak ? (really missing my scrobbler settings :()

Im on 1.1.4 and i havent had any problems with this i basically copied my preferences.app folder so i wouldnt have to restore if it didnt work unlike some of you guys. And then just drag the files to preferences.app and yes to all. everything works

Yes, when you install it asks you ENGLISH, or "the other language" (not sure what it is)... :cool:

PS - It also makes a "back up" just incase, but I am on 1.1.4 and have not had a prob whatsoever.

In this case, ifoneguide has made a great package (Which I recommend, more options). If you want I can start a new thread on it.

i added this and i see preferences. my questions are which one to download, super preferences or extended preferences. and the other question is that does it give you the SWOD, or brick, or basically fucks up ur ipod.

i know u had said this a long time ago but have u been able to host it on his repo or open repo? I dont mean this in a pain-in-the-neck way but i had trouble sshing it into my ipod. Thanks and great app btw:D

Hey, thanks for posting this.... I just got it to work on 2.0 and its running great. It wasnt easy to get on 2.0, and it has to be done manually (editing plist files)... so it will be easiest on a mac.
I am on windows and I could edit the plist files using winscp. I also downloaded plutil via cydia and used it through winscp's command line (to change the binary or whatever to xml)

I downloaded this, backed up my preferences folder, and installed it. Now I wanted to change back to the original settings so I deleted preferences on the iPod and copied the backed up one back. Only thing; Settings doesn't work now! It just thinks for a second then goes back to the springboard! Please help!
