There are some cool charging screens out there, just wanted a place where everyone could post what they're using. I've seen plenty of threads for summerboard themes and such, but I couldn't find one for this.

To use these with Customize, place the folder into /Library/Customize/BatteryImages
You should be able to select what battery images you want in the customizer settings once you've done that

I would think you could download the image.. convert it to jpeg, put it in photos, and make it your wallpaper from there. although it won't change as the battery diminishes.

Some use the screenshot ability of Dock. It has a bit of a delay so you can get to the charging screen before it snaps (or so I'm told). I prefer the screenshot.app. Just place it in your Applications folder (unzip the file i attached). When you want to take a screenshot, open Putty (or whatever you prefer) and type /Applications/screenshot.app. It'll capture any screen you're on. To retrieve it, go to where it tells you it saved the screenshot to.

Rename all of the images to BatteryBG_number (replace "number" with the battery number) You should have a total of 18 images, name the filled battery "BatteryFill" Navigate to Media_sym>System>Library>Core Services>Springboard.app and simply drag and drop the images, they should automatically replace the old ones if you named them right.

Is there any way to do it without Customize, like replacing the original files on the iPoT? (...where could I find them?)

I'm not able to shh here at school, so I had to do it manually. To get mine to work, I had to first delete the files, and then upload them via the ishare app. However... they SHOULD work for you guys just fine. Double check that I spelled/capitalized everything correctly!

PS- anybody know the maximum height that the battery image can be?

There is a thread by me called "keyboard backup file request" with the files I had to replace, if you back them up then you can simply return to the original keyboard by putting them back on your iPod. I didn't really like the keyboard but I'm sure others will.

Yeah I went ahead and installed the keyboard thinking it would be like the calculator, but it only changed the Go button..wierd. So I tried to uninstall it, it wasn't there, so I tried installing the backup one from customize, but then it completely disappeared. By this time I was extremely worried and already thinking about restoring. I installed the artwork in your thread but that didn't even work.

Then I came across the Aqwoah backup files on WinSCP and installed those and now it works perfect. I'm so relieved.

I found a lot of cool battery charging icons on the modmyifone.com website, but for some reason I keep getting 18 images in my customize option. I checked all my permissions and they are at 755. Am I missing something? I got the energizer one to work but none of the others want to work.... Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? (And don't say it's cuz I'm a noob! :D)

I installed this image and worked fine.... for a little while. Now it's gone. :( I now have no battery image whatsoever. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong? I uninstalled and reinstalled and still a no-go. When I go into customize (FINALLY got that working) there are a few options to choose from there, but none of those work, either.... Ack!!

EDIT: Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 or 4 times and it's working again. For how long I have no idea but all's well for now. :)

Jailbreaking your iPod voids your warranty and since you need to have your iPod jailbroken to change the battery I guess you could say changing the battery voids the warranty.

I was playing Super Mario 64 during the week, that game is so GOOD.
Anyway I decided to try and make a battery image that uses the Health Bar from the game. This is my first attempt at using Paint.net so it is a litttle rough around the edges, but I feel it does the job.

ok so here is my first attempt, i admit its not that nice, but i think you get the point, and i will make it better.
What i didnt like about the original image, i didn't really know when the battery was 100% so i used the apple logo and now if the battery is full the upper part of the apple(the smaller part) will be coloured also, so that you see it immediately.

i cant seem to open the default battery meter pngs.. wtf.. i wanna change the glow from green to a blue, how the hell do i open them..:confused:

If you look at some of the made up ones there are different numbers. Some have 16 plus one with just the name. So Name-1.png to Name-16.png plus one just called Name.png. Then there are others with 17 plus a BatteryFill one. Which is right? If you take out the one with just the name in and use BatteryFill instead it doesn't work. If you put in BatteryFill as well as the name only one you get 2 pics in Customize that look the same. So in other words it shows both the BatteryFill and the Name only one if that makes sense. I can get it all to work but never the full battery even when it's fully charged. The default by the way only has 16 and the name only one but all the ones for Customize seem to vary in their quantities.

yeah, I was also fooling around with the Battery icons, I discovered the following to ensure your Battery Icons work:

you must have "name.png" icon (then the next icon should begin with "-1" and then number the remaining icons in sequence
all of the numbered battery icons must use "-" instead of "_"
the last one...."batteryfill" must be numbered (eg batteryfill-#) should be the last number in the sequence.

Don't take this as a solid answer because I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a way to take a screenshot and get it on your computer without a wifi connection and ssh or ftp. There is an app called screenshot that will take a screenshot of the springboard without ssh on the iTouch itself but it saves the image in the iTouch and you would have to connect via ssh or ftp to get the image. If the iTouch ever gets that disk capability stuff then I would imagine that yes you would be able to get the screenshot image without a wifi connection, but as of right now I don't think you can, but then again I could be wrong.

well getting the image out isnt a problem, I just use ibrickr. the porblem is taking the screenshot before i unlock the touch.

Well jaibbreaking technically does void your warranty, so your warranty would be void long before you changed a battery scrren

basically all you have to do is make the pictures for icons the right size and make a wallpaper and anything else you want. I think the size for the icons is 65x65 and I can't remember the size for the wallpaper, I haven't made a theme in a long time. lol

If you start using Customize to change battery themes I've found that after awhile (it's a random thing) they never get to 100%. They seem to get stuck at the one before the full battery. Anyone else noticed this? I wonder if it's a bug in Customize? How it transfers the files to Springboard.

I've even totally restored my Touch to out of box and then re jailbroken it and it still does it. It's definitely a bug in something. Doesn't do it with a non jailbroken Touch

heyy i love the battery theme its amazing, but do you just add it to a theme then add the them to your ipodtouch/iphone as you would with a normal theme

About the thing where customize "sticks", its because the iphone utilizes 16 battery images instead of the iTouch's 17.

So could you just repeat the 16 full one and name it 17 even though you would then have 2 full ones do you think? Will try it anyway and report back.

Alright, here's mine. Credit to itouch101. He has the best looking battery so far.

I basically took his idea and changed it up a bit though. The small circles at the bottom are filled according to the charging percentage.

2. SFTP ur iPod
3. copy & place the file to "/bin folder"
4. change permission to 755
5. thats it!

now how to take a shot: slide to unlock/power off

1. right click the file "screenshot"
2. Custom Command
3. Execute
4. wait until the file save to "/tmp folder" (foo 0)
5. copy & save to ur PC and rename

taking shot on ur Battery Image:

to take a shot on ur Battery Image plug in the Dock cable & Execute the "screenshot" as long as the Battery Image charging is displayed

I can't get the images I created to center correctly. First they were 220 pixels wide and were off to the left a little bit, so I tried to make them all 480 pixels wide, and now I can only see half of the meter because it gets pushed off the screen.

I downloaded an image pack from this thread and tested them, and it worked fine. Any ideas?

Does anyone have the Friz Quadra font? It's the item info font in-game.

That's cool and all. However, is there anyone that can break down the image into 16 slices and shade them for each image like it is on cooldown (if you play wc3 you know what i mean ;p) and instead of flavour text it has Cooldown: 7%, Cooldown 14% etc. Also make it an orb and the items required Connector, Computer, iPod Touch.

Rename all of the images to BatteryBG_number (replace "number" with the battery number) You should have a total of 18 images, name the filled battery "BatteryFill" Navigate to Media_sym>System>Library>Core Services>Springboard.app and simply drag and drop the images, they should automatically replace the old ones if you named them right.

on the green spedometer bat, there's BatteryBG_1 and so on but before bat1 theres a batterybackground, i don't need this right? im only askin cause when my battery is fully charged, the image only goes to 95 not 100. I got rid of battery background and its still stops at 95....anyone got any answers, thanks, btw, i forgot who made this one, but i know it was absed off of the fridge raider so kudos to both you guys, i love cars so keep me posted if you come out with anything car related or otherwise. peace
