First post here and just got my Touch Friday and wanted to know what kind of earphones you guys use. The ones that come with it are crap, sound and fit are horrible on these and i'm currently using some $30 Sony headphones i got about two years ago. Anyone own those Bose, Shure, or Sennheiser earphones. Pretty pricey but i was curious if it is worth the cost. I work at Best Buy so i can get them cheaper than retail but wanted to know if it is really worth it. Thanks

I own the Shure E2C's (http://www.amazon.com/Koss-SPARKPLUG-Stereo-Ear-Plugs/dp/B00081A2DQ)
They're excellent - they retail for around $99, but I stole them from my younger sister who didn't like them. Score!

I like them because they go in ear, and they pretty much cancel out any ambient noise around you. And they have VERY good bass reproduction.

Other one's i've heard good things about are the Koss "sparkplugs"

http://www.amazon.com/Koss-SPARKPLUG-Stereo-Ear-Plugs/dp/B00081A2DQ

Definately more comfortable than the iPod's headphones, but most likely around the same quality.

welcome to the forums! i too noticed that the earphones included with the touch are even lower quality than the ones included with other late ipods. they sounded horrible! my brother has the 180$ Bose on ear headphones, they sound amazing and are totally worth it if you have the money for that sort of thing.

I have Sennheiser CX300s which are pretty good if you don't want to spend a heap of money. They'll be a bit more bass heavy than the Shure's if that's what your looking for. I'm in Aus but I think they're roughly 70USD.

If you wan't to spend more, I currently looking to upgrade to the Shure E3C's or more likely the SE210s.

One i'm currently thinking of buying are the Shure SE110's. I'm not looking to drop a lot of money on earphones but if i can get these for a good price i'll probably pick them up. The Bose in ear headphones that retail for $100 i can get for $50 so i'll see what i can get for the Shure's.

I've not heard good things about the Bose's. Best to avoid them I reckon. If you're only looking to spend that much, there's some Sony's, I think they're MDR EX71 or something like that in that price range, which are meant to be good.

i got a pair of e3c's right when the new series came out at fry's. it came to a point where the e3c was cheaper than the e2c. the most awesome thing is i accidently stepped on one of the buds, used some krazy glue to retighten it and it still works like new! sad thing is i'm still looking for new headphones :/ those plugs get dirty...

JVC Marshmallows.

They're 20 bucks, and they sound GREAT.

Great bass.
Great isolation.
Great quality.

I have this one...

Pretty darn expensive. But the sound is awesome. I have been using it for almost a year now. But I must say that my Sony Walkman phone sounds better than my iPod. :(

had the Bose in ear, and returned them today and bought the Shure 210's. Bose has better bass but doesn't stay in your ear as well as the shure. I ride a motorcycle and need an earphone that'll stay in. The Bose sat in too soft.
210's were worth the extra 50dollars

I use Ultimate Ears UE10s. They are the best in-ear headphone money can buy. They are super pricey, and not really intended for recreational iPod listening, but if you want the best sounding, most secure custom fitting headphones you can possibly get...these are the ones. I've had other expensive headphones before and they can't hold a candle to the UE10s. The difference is as clear night and day. If you are an audiophile and must have EXACT sound replication (and have $1000 to kick around)...these are for you.

I had 2 pairs of these, from the link below, they are really nice, they're comfortable and have great base. I need to get another pair because my last ones got stolen with my ipod classic. They have them at Walmart too, they're like $21.56.

i was just going to use the ones that come with the iphone (when i get it). but i blew my old ipod ones within the 1st hour of music.(had it too loud with to much bass lol). so im a bit screwed if these 1s are worst than the ipod 1s lol i guess i will just use my cheap ones from dealextreme

I use the Shure SCL3's along with the Triple Flange Sleeves. Their sound isolation is great and overall sound quality is top notch (bass aside). Their only downside was the price (around $200). I never bothered taking the headphones that came with my iPod touch out of their package.

I purchased the Bose headphones for $99.00 and they sound fine for general use. Their fit takes a bit of getting use to as they are not the standard 'in-ear' headphones, so I would try them first or purchase them from a Best Buy or electronics store where they can be easily returned.

I have a pair of Sony MDR-EX71's that took quite a beating with my nano but when i got my touch it was time for an upgrade. I got a pair of Shure E2c's on amazon. The sound and ambient noise suppression is definately better on the shure's but i'd still suggest the sony's if you want to stay in the $50 range.

I like the default headphones that come with Apple. I do not support the fact it costs $29 if you buy them separately, but they are decent unless you are a hyped up crazy audiophile.

Shures are nice, but they are fairly expensive.
