Hi, I'm planning on switching from an ipod touch to an iPhone from t-mobile Germany on November 9th but what i need to know is if i will be able to use my previous USA t-mobile service with the iPhone? any reply would be greatly appreciated. thnx
btw, who else is loving the new look of ipodtouchfans? it is effin 1337 to me..
I'm not sure, but I always thought that being able to switch phones simply by swapping the SIM card was one of the very few redeeming features of GSM......

I don't think so, but when Orange launch iPhone in France (and in Scandinavia - the same rules), Apple needs to sell an unlocked iPhone too.

I donīt really know, if T-Com releases the iPhone also unlocked, but I hope ;)
Itīw very expensive when you buy it with the T-Com contract, itīs 399 Euros for the Phone itself, and the cheapest monthly Rate is 50 Euros!
So just stick to an iPod Touch until the iPhoon gets cheaper or maybe other products come out.

Answer is yes, you will need to unlock and use one of the programs like anysim. You will need a tmobile data plan to avoid huge charges and the only thing that will not work is visual voice mail. You will still get voice mail notification but it will work the regular way other phones do.

"Buying an iPhone from T-Mobile Germany"
I hope you know that the phones and players in Europe are more quiet than in America...
