So, I was poking around in the firmware and found this little tidbit in a file... this is the most recent firmware. There could be more references -- I'm not done skimming yet.

How does this show evidence as there being bluetooth? All it means is that it is included in the firmware for the iphone, but the touch doesnt use it. We need physical proof of there being BT, not that.

I know... but it's something. And it's not removed in the new update which means it could be used later on... it's just my guess.

iphone firmware and ipod touch firmwares are very similar, it could be that this was included in the firmware but this shows no evidence of there being bluetooth hardware.

hate to perpetuate the cycle and blah blah....
but....how the hell isnt it a tiny piece of evidence....
it makes sense (to me) that if they mention bluetooth in the firmware there has to be something going on with it...maybe its filling up code or something ..........point is nobody knows so you really cant rule out anything unless you work at Apple on product engineering.

Long story short, it's not in there for no reason, especially with it being in the new frameware.
