I've made a list of possible apps that can make it or not make it to the upcoming SDK.

Everyone was asking us a couple weeks ago to add the 3 button search and now you guys don't even use it. Go to the search drop down bar on the top grey bar and use the "search forums with google" it allows you to search 3 letter words.

Back on topic- I agree with skylar, none of these apps will make it, apple will only release SDK to a select group of developers (in the beginning at least)

i hope they add iphone apps for the itouch (obviously not the phone/text :\). games would be nice, as long as they are a reasonable price (if they charge...which the prolly will). i just miss not having all those apps on my itouch :( but im afraid to jailbreak it again...

I think that even if some of the apps listed above do come out, their features will be crippled and apple will charge us for them :confused:

Frankly, I lean both ways.

I was in the PSP dev scene for a long time, and now I see the same sort of thing happening, except Apple is actually making an SDK, unlike Sony. I have the feeling that The SDK will be released, it will be hacked to peices, and we will have homebrew apps using a full SDK. There will also be thousands of ignorant screaming morons flooding the forum.

is not possible to offer a office suite like palm did it? I would be great cuz the IPT will be the better, usefull and beautiful PDA on the world!!!!! or at least a viewer for office documents...

well, just remembber that its nopt apple making the apps, so the 3rd parties will probaably 'submit' appss like that to appple, and apple can only not accept them with a good reason. annd there is no and absolutley NO good reason for customize, summerboard, and all of the other apps not to be 'accepted' oh yeahh, and as apple obbviously know what apps are the mosst popular with thhe jailbreak ( i hope they do!!) theyll probabbly release those, so they will get good money out of them. like if they sell customize for likke $2-4 and sell 50-100 a day...

SummerBoard and Customize most likely won't be allowed because they both require root access. It's my guess that any application that requires root access won't be allowed.

Also not to be allowed, by my conjecture, is Installer. Besides needing root access, it would defeat Apple's whole process of Downloading apps through iTunes. But, I could be wrong.

What I find interesting is that all apps are going need to be submitted via Source Code.

Our iPods are so pimped up now, who needs the SDK? Customize, Summerboard, and not to mention a full community of app makers 6 months head start before the SDK.

The only way SDK might beat it is Flash, Office, a better web browser (Safari is awesome, but they coulud make it better), and a way to make the wifi locator better and faster.

Oh, and if the SDK is free :D

gee wats up with the whole office thing...just carry a laptop if ure into spending large amounts of money...i mean personally..i think the whole point of office it to work efficeintly...but typing on the touch isnt that effieint. U cant have different windows, which for example when working on a ppt, u want a pic from the internet, its gonna be a bitch to have to keep opening up crap...when u cant even save files like that. u cant copy things...the list goes on. office is pointless to the touch. Theres a text editor and thats where it should end. ppt, publisher..maye exel..but why...half the functions wont be accesable if u do...just imo, pointless

There was supposed to be a meeting about the official meaning of the SDK programs. Like where apple wants to take it and how involved apple wants to be or in other words how annoying it wants to be. We will only see in time.

Pointless for you. Imagine you have your work in your iPod, school work, offfice work, whatever. You're double checking if the numbers are right, then realise you made a mistake. You can easily edit that, change that, crop the picture, correct the maths, whatever.

Yes, I carry some schoolwork on my iPod and the teachers allow it :D

well, my fave apps, are customize, summerboard, iphysics, dock, maybe a cpy and paste, labrynith (i think i spelled it right!) and quite a few others
