I have something for electronic music but I have a hard time finding quality music of the genre. Could someone please suggest some notable electronic artists?

Daft Punk, Eiffel 65, Fatboy Slim, LCD Soundsystem, Justice......a few that come to mind....

Definitely Daft Punk, they are the foundation of all electronic/techno music...you might recognize one of their songs, Harder Better Faster Stronger, which is used/remixed by Kanye West in Stronger...

if you like futurepop/industrial stuff then try kmfdm, mdfmk, vnv nation, apoptygma berzerk, funker vogt, and rammstein

pendulum is also good, they're drum n' bass though

depends what kinda electronic music you like though, just 'electronic' is incredibly vague

edit: and lols at whoever said daft punk was the foundation of all of everything, they've only been around since '93

I would consider Daft Punk the foundation of all that is electronic, even though they are by far my favorite band. I own all their music and I love them.

They are, however, the basis of the House movement of the 90s. They changed the face of house forever, and made it tolerable. Justice also took Electro-House and simply made it kickass.

Two different kinds of transcended electronic...
Muse and Radiohead.

Electronic music has sooo many genres and subgenres....there is Justice style electro-house, and underground electro-house ( or man-trance as a friend of mine likes to call it)
Daft Punk came along at a time when the French were giving House music a new flavor - Bob Sinclair was a Huge influence here, along with Laurent Garnier, Air, and the numerous avant-garde electronic clubs that sprung up to feed into it.
There is the more experimental forms of electronic music known as IDM - there you will find Aphex Twin, Markant, etc
it's a wonderful sea to swim in...good luck & enjoy the journey :)

Haha, quote. Eiffel 65 is great too, I have all 4 of their albums.

Vinylshakerz rocks, I love their songs, especially "One Night In Bangkok". They're good at remixing old 80's songs and turning them into dance heaven.

Simian Mobile Disco is some great electronic music.
