Looks like there is a new look for the upcoming Windows Live Messenger 9.0. I have the previous beta (that looks like 8.5) and I don't know which I like more.

Which do you prefer?

Well, I don't really care, as I don't use it. D:

But, if I had a choice, I'd go with the new look. There isn't much differences in the two looks, but in the new look, they make more use of space and have the text smaller on the buddy list. I'd prefer that over having huge text and having to scroll down the list more than is nessecary.

I had 9.0 when it got leaked a while back, is it released to the public now? I think you can use animated pictures on it now.

Yeah you can do that with the leaked 9.0 beta, this version hasn't been released, even to beta testers yet

I have version 8.5 and it looks exactly like version 8.5 but they have added features to 9. You can choose a section of any music file u have and messenger will play it every time 1 of your friends log on and you can now have an animated gifas your display pic!

You could on the old one... They just had to be those crappy KeeWee or whatever its called.

ppl use windows live messenger? i mean honestly, AIM is the way to go. its kind of ugly but already has all of those features 9.0 is getting. like... msn, live, yahoo, and icq aren't very popular...

Im on the leaked beta of 9.0 and I haven't had a problem in all the months I've used it :D.

I downloaded it again last night, tends to sign out if I havnt been active on it for a while. Back on 8.5 now.

yea i have the leaked version too but i use msg plus skin things so it looks different.... and there really isn't much to do...

You can easily get rid of the banner ads with A-Patch, also I wouldn't use Pidgin, the passwords on your computer can easily be found and read with any text reader (n)

Umm, I like the looks of the new one BUT, im on mac :( so no cool graphics, but hey! I dual boot Windows! :D

Old one. The old one reminds me of Symbian S40 on Nokia phones.

This is so annoying!!! Incase your didn't realise messenger 8.5 does not look like the screeny posted at the beginning!!!!! Messenger 8.5 and 9.0 both have the same exact looks!!! 9.0 just has new features.
