That you can run when Windows is booting up, like the Chkdsk program. Like it would run before Windows started. I'm asking this because I have 8 files on my computer that no Anti-Virus program I've tried can get rid of, nor can I delete them manually, they block it somehow :(

When you say manually, did you use the registry to delete them?

Nah, right click > delete. They're dll files, can I delete in the registry?

Possibly, research needs to be done before though cus you cant be deleting just anything in the registry.
Last time I had a big virus I googled it and after a while, found instructions on removing it from the registry and making sure I removed every last file related to it. So searching the viruses could help.
I dont know your setup, but booting up an operating system on another hard drive could help and have the virus scanner scan the infected hard drive. Same goes for using a Live CD with Linux on if you dont have another hard drive.

Ooh I never thought of a live CD, I have BartPE somewhere around here, I'll give it a try. Thanks :)

I just got a GREAT free antivirus called Avast. it constantly scannes while your comupter is on, and you can schedule times when it will scan EVERY FILE ON YOUR SYSTEM for viruses and other things on boot. it doesnt even let windows start before its done (it goes to the bootloader, then to this, then to the windows login page)

Now I wouldn say it's crap, it's good at what it does and it's free. If you have under 2GB of ram though it's not spectacular

I don't mean to sound like a cry baby, but I have another problem. Every time I boot up an error message pops up saying that it can't find geBuSMec.dll in c:\users\stephen\appdata\Local\Temp\. I've googled it and searced 3 dll download sites and I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't actually exist. There are no references to it anywhere.
Is there any way I can stop this error message coming up without downloading this non-existant .dll?
