I don't know why but when I open the audio recorder from Quicktime, the red "record" button is grayed out. Can anyone think of a reason why?

And yes I do have QT Pro.

Go to system preferences, then sound. make sure you are using the internal microphone. (this is for a Mac)
On windows, I guess just make sure you are using your internal microphone
