Push Notifications

Ok. So i use apps like Trapster, Textplus, and textfree. Those have push notification. I don't receive a message on my lockscreen or my springboard when i receive a text. Why is that? Isn't that supposed to happen on 3.0? And should I upgrade to 3.1.2? but blackra1n doesn't jailbreak on my computer for some reason. Please reply. Any help is appreciated.

I have heard that this happens when you restore then jailbreak without running any apps first before jailbreak.

So what I do when I restore is sync apps then run an app with push notifications. Then I jailbreak and always works.

ok but when i try to jailbreak 3.1.2 (tried on friends ipod) blackra1n didnt jailbreak it....
whats up with that?
