Default Windows 7 Test Against Viruses

Quote:
As Windows 7's market share passes 3.6%, up from 1.9% the day before launch, llManDrakell notes an experiment they did over at Sophos. They installed Windows 7 on a clean machine — with no anti-virus protection — with User Access Control in its default configuration. They threw at it the next 10 virus/worm samples that came in the door. Seven of them ran; UAC stopped only one baddie that had run in the absense of UAC. "Lesson learned? You still need to run anti-virus on Windows 7."

UAC isn't an anti-virus and Windows 7 tells you to get an anti-virus by itself.

Obvious Stated.

Now, Windows 7 still has terrible basic anti-virus.

Hey, it's Windows. What did you expect?

Personally, I stick with my Ubuntu dawg hommies.

True. Just recently, though, some idiot flagged iPTF on McAfee SiteAdvisor, and now iPTF is a yellow-flag site. (Instead of a green flag) Now, every time I load the page, the yellow info box flashes for about 3 seconds.

I don't know how it works, but can't you set it as a safe site so it doesn't do that?

But I like that addon.

@Bubalooshi - I figured out how to do it.

Ugh, still yellow. And no, I will not disable it.
