Little Big Planet and Uncharted 2 are enough to make me buy a PS3 over a 360, but that's just me. Look for exclusives you enjoy before deciding.

Just look at the list of games available on both and figure out which appeal to you most. As much as anyone here is going to tell you "Buy a PS3 cos Uncharted 2 is awesome" or "Buy a 360 because Gears of War 2 is awesome" only you can decide what you want. As an owner of both, I'd choose the 360 if you just want a gaming system. The library of games is larger, the online is superior and it's cheaper. With more owners it's more likely more of your friends have it too, and Xbox Live is heavily designed around community and interaction between friends. If you want a very good gaming system with free online and a Blu-Ray player go for the PS3. If a larger proportion of your friends have PS3's, go for it. I'll assume you're not a huge Halo or Metal Gear fan (for example) or the answer would be fairly easy. Also take into account the consoles future. Look at the 2010 release lists for both consoles; they're pretty damn strong either way, and looks into their new motion add-ons -- the Playstation Wand and 360's Natal.

I think Xbox live is much user friendly. But PS3 fans against 360 fans never ends well.

I enjoy the PS3 exclusives MUCH more than the 360's (I have both). Blu ray is never bad and free (although inferior to XBL) online gets the job done. Love my slim <3

thanks Guys just saw that you could get ps3 for 200 when you purchase it with some credit card from sony which means more games and accessories for me... thanks for the great advice. Honestly, I believe that the PS3 has a better game line-up overall.

If you like shooters, then the 360 is probably your best choice.

I own both, and while the Xbox 360 has a much better looking network, they both even out in functionality (for my uses; which are pretty minimal). So I'd say its all about the types of games you play.

Yes. Every update, the PSN gets better. Just a while ago, it got entirely re-skinned (it looks much better), it has a video store (added in an update), and it is much more mature.

Honestly, seeing it now, compared to when it first launched, you wouldn't recognize it. At all.

So I wouldn't let the network be a major selling point to you, but the games. The networks are about equal.

On the 360, it is usually a lot more team-based, where you are organized. The downside; you get cussed out. A lot.

On the PS3, it is a lot more formal; people come and play some. It is still competitive, but they usually realize that it is a game. People on the PS3 are usually slightly more mature. That can be construed as good or bad; you decide.

oh really that sounds good and its free. o you have any games you would recommend as a first ps3 owner. If i even get it?
