Blackra1n without WiFi?

I've encountered a problem with an iPhone 3G v3.1.2 using Blackra1n RC3, which has no WiFi connection - grey out. And without WiFi, I can't complete BR or install Cydia. I've tried Make_iTunnel.exe but that comes up with various errors including QTCF.dll missing and can't find apple.com.

I'm completely stuck and it's not my iPhone, any help? Or is the WiFi chip dead?

try restoring again to 3.1.2 and try blackra1n again

go to geohot's blog, and in his blacksn0w post, (i think) he addresses this issue.

he's addressed the issue and says it's an apple bug not something blackra1n caused
