That's old news; Apple has always had factory unlocked iPhones.
The only problem I've heard is that Apple will only service iPhones from their country of origin. So, if you buy a factory unlocked iPhone from Australia you will not have a warranty here in North America. |

Yeah it's pretty old news, and it's the same in Hong Kong and Malaysia (I think?) Shall be getting one when I go to Hong Kong for Christmas

They're unlocked somehow at the hardware level, right?
Is that why it isn't lost with a restore? Or is it lost with a restore, and you need a special recovery file/whatever? Or it is lost with a restore, and that's that? Please explain the way it works... (The permanent unlock method by Apple, I mean) |

I think they are unlocked in the factory, but I'm not sure whether a restore would lose it.

The ones in New Zealand are unlocked and claimed to be the cheapest factory unlocked iPhones in the world. =/
Anyways. It does not lose the unlocked then restored or upgraded. But don't try anything dumb with it by installing blacksn0w on it cuz it will literally mess up your device xD |
