Is there any talk of apache again? I am a very familiar apache user, but know little about libhttpd.

I don't ever remember seeing Apache for the iPhone, but I have only had one since 2.x, so I never used Installer.app. You can make a webserver with Python, but it is pretty confusing so I don't recommend it.
