Default Can you not listen to music after jailbreaking?

I've been reading a LOT of crap, and I feel like this might be a stretch. Still, is listening to the music you had on your iPod touch a problem after jailbreaking?

Also, a little off-topic, do I have to restore my iPod touch 2G before jailbreaking with blackra1n (3.1.2)?

You don't need to restore before jailbreaking.

And I've never seen a problem with listening to music on a jailbroken iPod. You'll be fine

Listening to music works fine

As for your second question you just have to make sure you are on 3.1.2. So this might require you to upgrade and restore. Also if you are planning on making a backup of your ipod dont restore to it after you jailbreak because that is known to cause some problems

To make sure I'm on 3.1.2, can't I just check my settings on the actual iPod?

Yea, just check Settings > General > About and you're firmware version is right there.

I don't think anyone would jailbreak an ipod if they couldn't listen to music on it :P

Okay, so I already have around 3 pages of apps. I downloaded blackra1n. Just "make it ra1n", download Cydia, and I'm set?

Absolutely NO need to restore at any time?

Yep, that's pretty much it, you can install Rock as well, but that's your choice. Cydia is enough. There won't be any reason to restore, unless something messes up.

Time has passed and some things have gotten easier.
