Default ghetto sound system question

do you think i could wire up a home theater subwoofer to the stereo in my car? would that require a amplify to increase the wats or what ever? i want to put it in my spare tire compartment. i know its meant for a spare tire but i dont know where mine went.

just would like to know if i could somehow do this or if anyone has here has ever done this. (doubtful)

thanks in advance.

EDIT:

well here is what ive got.

i did this on both my back speakers. both are wired to the sub. gets more power that way.

the old rear speakers are both blown out.and yes my car is right hand drive BUT i dont live in England.

Is the sub from an All in one surround sound or a separates system? what sub is it?

Most separates use 8ohm subs, and car systems use 4ohm but sometimes lower for subs. Try having a look at the specs for your head unit for the min/max ohn ratings. Then wire your sub in parallel or series to increase/decrease the ohm level to match the requirements for your head unit, or you will seriously damage your hed unit.
