Things you need before you start:
iRecovery [Google]
xpwn here
rslite.zip http://redsn0w.com
2.1.1 IPSW here
2.2.1 IPSW here

MAKE SURE ALL OF THE FILES ARE SAVED ON THE DESKTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

----------------[Instructions]----------------------------
FIRST:
-Put the contents of the FirmwareBundles folder included in rslite into the FirmwareBundles folder included in Xpwn.
-Copy a 2.2.1 IPSW into the Xpwn directory and call it OriginalFW.ipsw
-run command prompt and type

cd

, then a space and drag the xpwn folder into the command prompt and press enter
enter this:

ipsw OriginalFW.ipsw patchedFW.ipsw -s 700 bundles\Cydia.tar

wait like 7 minutes and exit cmd

1.

Get the patchedFW.ipsw from xpwn.

rename it from "xxxxxxxxx.ipsw" to "xxxxxxxxxxxx.zip"

Open the ZIP. And extract these files:
iBSS
iBoot

-------------------------------------------------

2.

Rename these files:

iBSS > iBSS221.dfu
iBoot > iBoot221.img3

--------------------------------------------------

2.

Rename the Official 2.1.1 IPSW
from "xxxxxxxxxxxx.ipsw" to "xxxxxxxxxxxx.zip"

Open the Zip.

Extract:

iBSS and rename it to iBSS211.dfu

Put your iPod into DFU mode!!

to do this:

HOLD power + home BUTTON. FOR 10 SECONDS.

after 10 seconds. RELEASE POWER. BUT CONTINUE TO HOLD HOME

Now you are in DFU mode. IF YOU SEE THE APPLE LOGO YOUR NOT IN DFU.

With your iPod on DFU. you need to:

open up "run" (press windows key + r)

in run type CMD

Now copy the iBoot221.img3, iBSS221.dfu, & iBSS211.dfu into the iRecovery_SVN folder located in the iRecovery folder

in command prompt, type

cd

then a space and drag the "iRecovery_SVN" folder into the command prompt and press enter

THEN type

"irecovery -f iBSS211.dfu"

then UNPLUG YOUR IPOD. and replug it in.

Now close CMD.

and open a new CMD.

type in:

cd

, then a space and drag the iRecovery_SVN folder in cmd and hit enter

ENTER THE FOLLOWING CODES, PRESSING ENTER AFTER EACH!

irecovery -s
arm7_stop

DO NOT CLOSE CMD! Now copy this whole thing and paste it into the cmd (copy it and right click in the cmd) after each code is entered press "enter" on ur keyboard

LEAVE THE CMD OPEN! ENTER THE FOLLOWING CODES!

close CMD
and open a new one and type:

cd

, then a space and drag the iRecovery_SVN folder in and press enter

enter the following code

irecovery -f iBSS221.dfu

close CMD.

open itunes

go into the xpwn folder and find the patchedFW.zip file. rename it to patchedFW.ipsw

SHIFT-CLICK "restore" in itunes
go into the xpwn folder and find the patchedFW.ipsw and restore to that

FINALLY: put ipod in DFU again
open CMD
cd to the irecovery_svn folder (im sure ur familiar with it now)
enter the following exactly the way it is and press enter after each

iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu
iRecovery -s
arm7_stop

DO NOT CLOSE CMD! Now copy this whole thing and paste it into the cmd (copy it and right click in the cmd) after the code is entered press "enter" on ur keyboard

If you iPod is not recognized after sending the 2.1.1 iBSS, unplug it and plug it back in, then try iRecovery -s.
You may need to unplug your iPod after sending each iBSS, also.

r u sure cuz i did and i told my cousin to do it and we both jailbreaked successfully maybe were magic. i only posted this because i had to do something different than what some guides said and am posting what i was successful with if u wanna do anything else be my guest

Hmm.... I'm on step six, I just restored to the patched firmware. iTunes said it's going to automatically boot up and reappear under the devices list, but now my iPod is just sitting there... So am I supposed to turn it on now or what? And which buttons, the top, the home, or both?

now u have to put it in DFU mode. with the ipod plugged in, hold the power and home buttons (the top and the middle one) for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds, let go of the power button (the top one)BUT KEEP HOLDING THE HOME BUTTON FOR A FEW SECONDS OR UNTIL SOMETHING SHOWS ON UR COMPUTER LIKE ITUNES POPS UP AND SAYS THERES AN IPOD IN RECOVERY MODE u can ignore it DO NOT RESTORE just close itunes and continue
