Its been completed!! BrandonWilson and MuscleNerd together have created a program called iPhone8X for the TI-84 Calculator models only. you can download iPhone8x here (link orignally posted by MuscleNerd, core code was done by BradonWilson and was modified to run flawlessly by MuscleNerd)
http://iphwn.org/iPhone8x_v1.1.zip you also must download a program developed by BrandonWilson (usb8x, which can be found here) http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=143628 (select usb8x) finally you will need TI Connect Software to send these applications to your TI-84 Calculator. Windows http://education.ti.com/downloads/fi...onnect_eng.exe Mac http://education.ti.com/downloads/fi...ticonnectx.dmg and finally, the cable. search on your own if you wish for a Mini USB Type-A (the Type A in EXTREMELY important) to Female USB Type-A. or use the provided site to purchase one. https://serialio.com//store/product_...1885be5c210cd5 Once all programs and installed onto your calc, your ipod must be "run rs" jailbreak compatible. many guides on that are here at iptf Plug in the Mini USB Type-A port into your Calculator, and the iPod connector into the iPod (really? i wouldn't have guessed that part) and put your iPod into recovery mode [cable going into iTunes logo, which can be accomplished by pushing the power button on a powered off 'run rs' ipt2g] and run iPhone8x from your Ti-84 which will be found in the APPS menu. Here is a video of it working, created and posted by MuscleNerd http://qik.com/video/1198714 Enjoy being awesome if you get this working (which shouldn't be too difficult)Again, Credits go out to BrandonWilson (lots of credits actually, be wrote usb8x which i must say is the foundation of everything ti-84 boot related) and of course the ever loved, MuscleNerd. for editing the app created by BradonWilson to work perfect. And i'm going to have to do this, dont get mad, but minor credits to me - crdnilfan (like .1% of what they get credit wise) for writing the first app to integrate usb8x correctly, and realizing the mini usb type-a problem. -------------------------------------------------------------- This has been a massive edit from the original post, so the first 12 pages or so are discussing development and problems which result. pages 15 and on seem to have great information (when MuscleNerd and BrandonWilson joined in). But i didn't want to make another thread, considering we have way to many "omg my ipodz iz briiiickkkked!! halp meh!" threads as it is.

i believe Type-B is and Type-A is similar to USB 1.1 and USB 2. once USB 2 came out, it was better in almost every possible way, but in the case of the B/A thing, there isn't complete backwards device support.

Would this work for a TI-83 Plus through the 2.5mm jack?

nice work dumping both calc threads. anyways, without the cable i've been doing what i can
i got the calc to detect my external harddrive, and power it. i've looked into code for the 2.5mm I/O port, that looks fairly easy to write actually! pretty much i just need hardware to test my proggys... :P |
