Will mics work with Official Skype app on 1G??

I was just playing around with the new official skype app on my 1G touch. Im able to take a call and hear no problem. Will a 3rd party mic work with skype? Can someone confirm which mics will, on 1g?

There is a Macally mic........but i don't know if work.

Works almost perfectly with an iVoice III except I can't hear the ring tone of an incoming call.

Maybe you can hear the ringtone in the headphone?
