Cool [Release] Cydia Package Manager gives Installer a run for its money

Telesphoreo + Cydia Package Manager

Just amazing i went and checked out erica sudan TUAW site and found this article on a Debain APT package manager.. i was curious when i saw the word debain and apt it could only mean good !. This application is much more stable than installer and bsd subsystem. So any of you users out there fedup with alot of problems related to bsd subsystem and installer, check this application out!

The design of this app is great and what it does is just better !

Cydia Package Manager = Installer.app but better.

Install:
Add this source:
http://apptapp.saurik.com/

Check under System Catagory for Cydia Packager.

The refreshing of sources is sooo much faster...however you cannot add sources yet... but soon enough =). I'm going to keep with this and see how it goes. I suggest you users to check it out.

Whats nice also is when scrolling through packages it has the a-z bar at the side to allow for fast scrolling with out swiping your finger across the screen for half an hour.

Still installer.app is an amazing peice of software same with bsd sub system but i like where this is going.

Screenies:

Take Care,
Jon

Find out a full article on this app and how it replaces the bsd subsystem with a much better and more frequently updated package of goodies:

This amazing app has been created by Jay "Saurik" Freeman.

Okay I'm getting the error while it says "slowly extracting" the installer pretends it never installed it, but when I respring, there it is! But it won't launch when clicked, it just opens a plain backgrounnd (gray) and then crashes. What the fu*k is goin on? I'm on 1.1.1 with the apps moved using bosstool.

EDIT: Okay I couldn't ssh or delete or move or change permissions on any file. Mobilfinder was useless because none of its functions would work. Terminal said the usr/bin/login file was gone. I was freakin. The I remembered that the first step of instalation for cydia (after downloading) was "uninstalling bsd" So I used installer and just reinstalled BSD subsystem and everything is back like it was before my bout with cydia. Ssh, terminal and mobilfinder all work perfectly. Bsd will still be in your list of installed apps, just click it and click reinstall.

Tell me if this fixes everything, as it did for me.

wouldn't eliminating the need for the BSD Subsystem also free up a lot more space for Apps?
