Skylar, only one thing in the ergonomics of it:
Once the current song is already playing for 5s* or more, most music players (including every single one I've ever touched) restart the song when you press the previous song button instead of going straight to the previous tune.
However, in PT, in order to restart a song currently playing you have to swipe backwards once and then forwards once.
It's not that annoying, since it can be easily circumvented by that process I just described, but my humble opinion is that, specially in such an incredible app as this, unconventional behavior feels a bit amateurish.
I'm curious about your thoughts on that matter.
Kudos, for the 500th time.
Your rendition of the pocket touch idea is as close to perfect as this community could dream.
*Just a guessed number.

It depends on my mood. I could add it in. Maybe I will, I don't know. I mean, it would be as easy as one if statement, followed by a function call.
We'll see.

Yeah, i actually find it annoying when it just restarts the song instead of going to the previous song.

I might add that the discordance of the above users (and probably some more below) most likely reflects the opinion of a minority.
I have no data to backup my claim, except the fact I have already stated, that the behavior I propose is ubiquitous.
This forementioned fact would be enough to increase the ergonomic comfort of the app simply by avoiding a new learning curve to all that have already used similar functions in any gadgets or softwares (a.k.a. everyone not in a coma since 1952).
However, it's up to Skylar. He's been wise so far, so I'll throw my dice.
Yes, I talk fancy when I'm drunk, and only losers get drunk on monday nights and then write an 'ergonomic essay' on a web forum.
Cheeeers.

It may be ubiquitous but it's annoying as hell. Music player should have a restart command for that purpose. Intuitively one would expect the previous song swipe to go to the previous song, not start the one you are listening to over.

I think I might finally be satisfied with my Settings screen.

You make a good point, but so does everybody else. I don't know, I might just add that in as an option, that way everyone can decide how they want things to work.

Definitely add it as an option, if you ever do. I don't like the fact that you have to double swipe if you want to go to a previous song. This is meant to be a simple app. So keep it simple. Single swipes for the next, single swipes for the previous.
Why would you want to restart a song before it barely even has started anyway? Logically if you want to re-listen to a song, you must have finished listening to it already (and liked it so much) , and so the single swipe backwards to the previous track to replay it is just right.
Just my 2 cents.

I need ONE iPod tester for a test. I just added in an iPhone only feature, and I need to know if the iPod will crash, or simply ignore the error (of not being able to perform this feature).
Best case scenario: everything works perfectly, and you got a pre-prerelease of 1.3. [not likely]
Worst case scenario: you get a fancy new spinning wheel of death. [not likely]
Most likely scenario: the app crashes.
