I think when SpringBoard is `up front` active, the acceleroometer is exclusive to it, so your idea would not work in this case.

I would like it to run similar to Waves or Screenshot, but I'm not sure how they get the floating buttons. Every time I get a different sized window, I wind up with what I described in the last post. And creating a daemon won't work, because I need the accelerometer.
SpringBoard feeds the accelerometer data into apps.
