Another "Do-it-myself" project I am pretty proud of. Using the Apple AV Cable, I integrated the ipod touch into the factory radio of my Infiniti FX35, and the video plays on the front screen I installed as well as the rear flip up dvd screen I put in myself. Comments appreciated. *bumped because I added a higher quality video.

WoW
Awesome job on the video and the mod. Another reason why the Touch kicks arse. |

Cool mod. That was my plan as well. Right now I just play it through an audio aux input and mount the iPod on a windshield mounted arm. I want to add an LCD to the rear for my daughter. What model is that pop-up LCD on your dash? It accepts component inputs or did you buy the composite cable for this mod?

The front monitor is a $200 PYLE I got on EBAY. It accepts 3 video inputs (composite). The video feed in my video is coming from the Phase Linear DVD player I installed in the back of the console. The Apple AV cable goes to the aux input on the Phase Linear DVD player, and then goes to the flip up screen in the dash. The audio comes from the rear DVD player and goes into a PAC NIS AAI device that interfaces with my factory radio. It was a lot of work and I am no expert...but I think it turned out ok.
Thanks for all the nice comments. |
