[MUST READ] iPod touch Fans OFFICIAL RULES

Announcement:

We (the iPod touch Fans staff) have been discussing numerous ideas that will improve the forums and have come to the conclusion that the current rules/punishment system just isn't working. We will be giving infractions resulting in immediate temporary and permanent bans.

The rules have been greatly revamped and can be found below. The moderation team will be very strict when it comes to members breaking those rules. If any of you break any of the rules below you will be temporarily or permanently banned (according to the new rules).

Each broken rule counts as a "strike" on your record and also has a point value associated with it. Breaking a rule will result in a ban based on your total points and "strikes". Points and strikes do not expire.

Also, infractions will be posted publicly in the "Crime and Punishment" section of the board.

Ban Thresholds

Points:
1 point - 1 day ban
2 points - 5 day ban
3 points - 2 week ban
more than 5 points - permanent ban

Strikes:
3 strikes - 2 week ban
4 strikes - permanent ban

Actions that will result in points and strikes

1. Double posting [1 point / 1 strike]
   .
2. Off topic conversations [1 point / 1 strike]
   .
3. Advertisements or unapproved off-site links [2 points / 1 strike]
   No off-site links are allowed without prior permission. There are, however, certain types of links that will almost never be approved.
   
   These include, but are not limited to:
   1. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will referrals links of ANY SORT ever be allowed. Do not bother asking for permission or posting them, because you will be ignored or banned, respectively.
   2. iPod touch/iPhone related forums. (exceptions include large forums like iLounge, MacRumors
   3. Most iPod touch/iPhone related blogs. (exceptions are big blogs such as TUAW or MacRumors)
   4. Other iPod touch/iPhone related sites (exception is iPhoneFanatics.com)
   5. Irrelevant personal blogs, forums, etc.
   
   .
4. The posting of obscene/pornographic material [3 points / 1 strike]
   .
5. The posting of illegal/pirated material [3 points / 1 strike]
   Very simply, do not post it. With more developers starting to charge for their applications, and with the possibility of cracked SDK apps, this is a reminder that we do not allow any illegal content on this site.
   
   This includes:
   1. Posting direct links to a cracked app via a file hosting site
   2. Making posts about how users can PM you for a cracked app
   3. Linking to another site (or a youtube channel) that has the cracked app
   4. Serial numbers

6. Insulting other members [3 points / 1 strike]
   (at full discretion of moderator)
   .
7. Flaming and/or trolling [3 points / 1 strike]
   (at full discretion of moderator)
   .
8. Negative and/or immature comments [3 points / 1 strike]
   (at full discretion of moderator)
   .

At the moderators discretion, any of the offenses above can result in a permanent ban.

Multiple accounts used to break any of the rules will result in all accounts as well as the IP address being banned.

Please note that breaking a rule 2 or 3 times can result in a permanent ban.

The "report this post" button is only to be used if the post in question is in violation of one of the rules above. If you have an issue that is not related to the rules above, feel free to PM a moderator.
